Dr.Tia Knight-Forbes DNP, FNP-BC is a Doctoral prepared board certified Family Nurse Practitioner through American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC). Her primary focus is preventive health education, cultural competency health, and closing the gap in quality health care in underserved areas. She is a native of Amityville, NY, where her “village” as she calls it inspired and mentored her to be the best she chooses to be despite ongoing negative biases around her. She received her undergraduate degree from Stony Brook University (Cum Laude), graduate degree from LIU CW Post, and Doctoral degree from Walden University (Cum Laude). She is a member of Chi Eta Phi Sorority Inc, Golden Key International Honor Society, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and Black Nurses Rock Inc. She is well known for great quality outcomes in acute/chronic conditions with a cultural awareness approach model and bedside manner. ITAV-NP Family Health (It Takes a Village) was established in 2018 to address the need for cultural competent quality care, improvement in health care disparities, and social change. She continues to mentor youth and others in their desires with future careers, self esteem/knowledge, and plan development.
